The
2007 Pre-Budget Report was a bit of a non-event from a company
car perspective although private fuel benefit scale charges saw
a huge hike to £16,900 from 6th April 2007. Employers and
employees should review whether this benefit is really
worthwhile. |

HMRC are expected to announce the outcome of their review of
Employee Car Ownership (ECO) Schemes in the forthcoming
pre-Budget report. This review, which has been ongoing for some
time, is expected to result in a tightening up on the operation
of some employee car schemes which do not strictly fall within HMRC
guidelines.
Also expected in the pre-Budget report is details of the review
of capital allowances for business cars. In the future it
is possible that capital allowances could be based upon the CO2
emissions of a vehicle. |
